The TRSTV crew attended the Garden State Film Festival, which debuts more than 200 independent films annually over four days each spring. For Pi Day鈥擬arch 14, or, more accurately 3.14鈥擨ntermediate South teacher Joanne Link had her orchestra students compose the 鈥淧i Song鈥� by taking the first numbers of pi, lining them up with a scale, and then playing the song. 鈥淭he students brought in circular treats鈥攕ome very delicious and homemade!鈥� said Link. The American Legion Post 129 in Toms River once again sponsored a patriotic coloring contest. The theme for this year鈥檚 contest was the Old Guard.
The Old Guard is the oldest active-duty infantry unit in the Army, serving our nation since 1784. The Old Guard is the Army鈥檚 official ceremonial unit and escort to the president, and it also provides security for Washington DC, in time of national emergency or civil disturbance.

Several Intermediate East band students have been accepted through audition into the Region III All South Jersey Band. Work-based learning CAP students from all district high schools and HSN's FBLA officer attended a GTRCC networking event Jan. 10 for their monthly member connect. Hooper Avenue's annual Turkey Trot was a success thanks to Hooper students, families, staff, PTO, cross country team members, and T.E.A.M. volunteers. By working together, $1,500 was raised for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. (11/26/24)

For the past 20 years, Hooper Avenue Elementary 乐鱼体育 has teamed up with 100.1 WJRZ during the radio station's annual initiative. During the month of November, students in Mr. Hynoski's class worked hard to collect food from the school community. All food collected will support Fulfill of Monmouth and Ocean Counties and will benefit people in the local communities. (11/22/24)
The Unified Sports Flag Football season continued this week at the Field of Dreams when High 乐鱼体育 North鈥檚 Mariners took to the field for the first time to play Wall High 乐鱼体育. The game was fantastic in its own right, but also served as a precursor to next week鈥檚 season-ending matchup against in-district rival High 乐鱼体育 East. Another Battle of Bay Avenue is in store, this time with flag football bragging rights at stake. So stay tuned. (11/22/24)

Toms River Regional 乐鱼体育s鈥� Special Services team is compelled to shout out Wendy's鈥攖he Route 37-East Dover location, specifically鈥攆or their incredibly generous donation in support of the department鈥檚 ESY program this year. Manager Tom Babalis and his team donated a giant box of Wendy's swag including frisbees, sunglasses, beach balls, and water bottles that staff and students enjoyed as special prizes.
